1978 – 1984 🇺🇸
Born in Istanbul on 27.12.1978. Spent the first few childhood years in L.A / California; learning Turkish and English simultaneously.
1984 – 1989 🇹🇷
Came back to Istanbul and went to Sisli Terakki Elementary School. Started to program the Amstrad CPC 464 computer at home. Wrote my first hangman game on the last year of the school.
1989 – 1996 👨🏻🏫
Went to Cagaloglu Anadolu Lisesi, where my study continued in German. Started to play keyboard and guitar. Became part of the school band. Spent a few years in swimming & martial arts.
1996 – 2002 🏫
Pursued German undergraduate studies at the Marmara University on business administration.
Initiated white hat hacking adventures. Wrote cheat / savegame editor apps for many games; including Diablo, Icewind Dale, Jedi Knight, Worms World Party. Developed a couple of intrusion detection programs. Hacked into my Nokia & Siemens cellphones to send personalized bulk SMS messages.
Trojan Detective, my trojan detecting IP scanner, was published by PC Magazine. Started to write security related articles for them under the nickname “WhiteSaint”. Continued my tech articles at Windows .NET Magazine.
Became a founding member of the Bluesaint Band, which played countless shows for the following 10 years; including accompaniment to Asım Can Gündüz and Kerim Çaplı. Became house band of the TV show “Joy Inn” by (late) Defne Joy Foster.
Met Vic Sagerquist in a chat room, who happened to be a Hollywood music producer. Learned a lot from him on computer aided music production. Won a couple of awards on online music contests.
Self-published my first book Bir Romeo Bir Juliet, which was co-authored with Gamze Güçkıran.
After my part-time webmaster job at Escort Computer, I started working for E-Fikir as the web team leader.
2002 – 2005 👨🏻💻
Pursued my German graduate studies at Marmara University on MIS.
Joined Cozumevi, where I worked as the software development manager and eventually became a partner.
Went back to martial arts for a while, and started playing Go.
Published my first tech book Programcilik Mantigi.
2005 – 2011 📚
Pursued my doctorate studies at Yeditepe University on Organizational Behavior.
Published two further tech books: Bilgisayar Destekli Muzik and Veritabani Mantigi.
Composed jingles for Haber Turk, Number One TV and Business Channel. After playing on the opening act for The Blues Brothers with BlueSaint, I left the band and declared the bass guitar to be my main instrument. I participated the bands Bate Bumbo, Jozi Levi Brazil Project, Urban Cats and Afrotolia.
Kept my white hacking hat on in the corporate world; which enabled me to embed my own ActiveX controls into SAP GUI, printing barcodes directly from SmartForms, deciphering steelyard protocols and embedding SAP reports into IPTV broadcasts.
I also confess undetectably bypassing the macro limitations of World of Warcraft.
2011 – 2012 🇩🇪
Resigned from Cozumevi and moved to Germany to work for Capgemini. I conducted my PhD research parallel in Turkey & Germany.
2012 – 2014 🎓
Came back to Turkey and started to work as a freelance SAP software architect under the brand Tesuji Consulting.
Finished my PhD thesis and became Dr. Kerem Koseoglu.
Abdi Ibrahim’s “RAISE” project, which I participated as the lead software architect, earned a silver medal in SAP Quality Awards 2013.
Published the book Ne Kadar Hayvansin.
Played many shows with Jozi Levi, Afrotolia, Violette and Djanan Turan. Composed the music of the “Cherry at the Stars” iPad game, which got the 2nd place at American Design Awards.
Started with my improv theater and yoga studies.
2014 – 2016 🎸
Became one of the founding members of the improv theater group Organik Oyuncular and did lots of shows.
Became the bass player of The Flat Band and played bass guitar for Phil Keegan’s album.
2016 – 2018 🌎
My first English book Design Patterns in ABAP Objects was globally published by SAP Press.
Eczacibasi’s “Harmony” project, which I participated as the lead software architect, earned many awards; including: Gold medal at SAP Quality Awards 2016, CIO 2016 award, EMEA finalist in SAP Global Quality Awards 2016, CIO 2017 USA award.
Became an official Fodera artist. Performed with Kenan Doğulu for his jazzy project “Ihtimaller”. Became founding member of the bands Shamoon and Minzen . Released the albums Merkabah and Meditation.
Gave yoga lessons to Eczacibasi employees.
2018 – 2020 🧘🏻♂️
Gave a TEDx Talk about time management at TEDx Koç School 2018.
Gave speeches on SAP Inside Track events, Eczacıbaşı, Altınbaş University, Bahçeşehir University and Zeliler TV.
Published my research on Quran. Open-sourced many software projects.
Released the albums Endless Live, Mauna, Twameva and participated Dört Çeker, Sound Healing Journey. Became founding member of the bands Tushe & Pinyata. My composition Waltzing With The Vampire became the official intro of the Coven of the Inarticulate podcast. Gave ensemble lessons to children at UUMA. Performed in significant jazz venues; including Nardis & Donizetti.
Attended the Yoga Teacher Training of Siddashram Yoga Center. Became a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certified yoga teacher. Started teaching yoga at Satya Yoga Studio. Gave a speech on personality types at Akasya Yoga Festival 2019.
2020 – 2022 🦠
Developed and released commercial software products; such as Databus, Measy and Safe TMS.
Participated #DünyaKadarSade video series of Yapı Kredi World; talking about time management.
Gave speeches on SAP Inside Track events, Ahbap, Askıda Eğitim, Bahçeşehir University, Beykent, Bilkent, Istanbul University, ITU, Marmara University, Rotary Club, Sorgun, SPRO, Yeni Bir Lider and YTU.
Started playing with Istanbul Funk Unit, Cenk Soyak Trio and Özge Estekin. Released my solo albums Pandemotions and Pinned Places; as well as a series of home covers. Composed the theme song of HisarKolik podcast.
2022 – * 💍
Married to Özge Estekin. Lost my dad.
Published my first iOS game “Çözcük“.
Started playing bass for Ayhan Sicimoğlu. Played bass on the albums Zincirsiz Köle and Kurt Gibi Açım. Studied bass with Guy Bernfeld. Left the band “Pinyata”.
